We are seeking a full-time RN for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Williston, ND

Job Summary:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient’s individual physician. This will involve, utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits.

Essential Duties:

  1. Utilize the nursing process in developing the plan of care

  2. Base on care plan, implements care and re-evaluates care based on the patient response to treatments. Documents progress towards goals

  3. Administers specified medications, by either oral, subcutaneous, intermuscular, intradermal, or intravenous route as ordered. Documents response to medications.

  4. Assembles equipment for procedures and uses patient’s supplies appropriately during procedures commonly performed by the RN

  5. Completes nursing assessment of patient and documents appropriately into the patient’s records

  6. Sets priorities in plan of care based on assessed needs

  7. Assesses educational needs and engages in patient/family education and teaching as appropriate. Documents this education.

  8. Continuously observes, monitors, and/or assessed the patient status and reports any changes in condition or adverse reactions to medications or treatments. Documents this in the patient’s record. Notifies MD.

  9. Documents all pertinent information into the patient’s record. Performs this documentation at the patient’s bedside.

  10. Transcribes physician orders appropriately.

  11. Demonstrates knowledge in management of complex equipment: Ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, temporary transcutaneous and transvenous pacemakers, cardiac/oxygen saturation/non-invasive blood pressure monitors, epidural catheters, fluid and blood pumps

  12. Demonstrates knowledge in advanced nursing skills: airway management, dysrhythmia management, and shock management

  13. Assist to maintain order and cleanliness of utility, nutrition, medication and supply room, nurses station, patient cupboards and consulting room

  14. Checks equipment and supplies and assists with room set up

  15. Manages intravenous fluids, medications, and blood administration. Documents patients response

  16. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education / Accreditation / Licensure:

  • Associates Degree from an approved School of Nursing

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of North Dakota Board of Nursing

  • Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Certification for Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

  • Certification for Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Experience:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of ICU experience
