CHI Franciscan Health has an opportunity for a Business Consultant to join the Quality/Clinical Effectiveness team in Tacoma for a temporary basis.

Job Summary:

This job is responsible for performing special projects as assigned by the manager of the work unit/department. Special projects may include consultation, integration of business processes during transitions/integration of functions or systems, data analysis, and/or subject matter expertise and support for a specific functional area.

Essential Duties:

  • Provides direct professional-level support to the team and/or manager in developing objectives and tactics to support strategic plans, programs and/or specific initiatives; may lead project teams in the implementation of initiatives.

  • In consultation with management, may research and/or analyze data needs or process changes. May address gaps and/or present recommendations for change. May initiate and/or lead initiatives and/or process changes approved by management.

  • Conducts analysis related to the specific assignment.

  • Develops and/or implements new processes including training programs and materials; may provide direct training as necessary.

  • Performs special project work in support of management staff/initiatives as assigned.

Education/Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, based on the assignment which may include; accounting, finance, human resources and a minimum of five years of related work experience.

  • Master’s degree is preferred.

  • If assigned to nursing projects: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. One year of related work experience in an acute care setting is preferred. BSN degree is preferred.


  • If assigned to nursing projects: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
