Methodist Hospital is home to a 158 acute-care bed facility with 1120 employees 283 medical staff and 29 Emergency Department beds. Methodist Hospital also owns and operates Bruceville Terrace – a 171-bed sub-acute skilled nursing long-term care facility adjacent to the hospital that provides care for the elderly as well as those requiring extended recoveries. Methodist Hospital is home to the Family Medicine Residency Program an accredited and nationally recognized program which provides resident physicians with specialty training in primary care family medicine. Together the hospital and residency program implemented a ground-breaking curriculum addressing the identification treatment and assistance of human trafficking victims and created a one-of-a-kind health clinic for victims the Human Trafficking Medical Home.

The Nursing Director of Surgical Services plays a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in both the acute OR and outpatient surgery center. This position requires a skilled and experienced leader with a passion for surgical nursing and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

$15,000 Sign on Bonus offered for fully qualified new hires. Per policy current employees are not eligible.

Job Summary:

The Nursing Director of Surgical Services directs the provision of nursing care in a business unit while maintaining standards of patient care.

  • Responsible for the overall quality of care provided by the nursing personnel. Advises medical staff, department heads, and administrators in matters related to nursing service and strategies.

  • Interprets policies and objectives of nursing service to staff and community groups.

  • Monitors the operations of the nursing staff and ensures compliance with regulations on organizational and governmental standards and practices. Schedules staff and conducts employee performance reviews.

  • Provides nursing care to patients on an as needed basis.

Qualifications

$15,000 Sign on Bonus offered for fully qualified new hires. Per policy current employees are not eligible.

Minimum:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience and two (2) years of leadership experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN) or equivalent education and experience and Master's degree in nursing or other-related field (e.g., MSN/MBA/MHA).

  • Current California (CA) Registered Nursing License (RN) in state of practice

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Other credentials or modules may be required.

Pay Range

$72.03 - $104.45 /hour
