This full-time Days-with-call position is located at Skiff Medical Center, Newton, IA.
Qualified candidates must be able to report to Skiff Medical Center within 30 minutes.
Dedicated Anesthesia sleep room is available, as needed
Call is required 1/3 of the month, including every 3rd weekend.
JOB SUMMARY: The staff CRNA assists in planning, leading, organizing, and delivering the services of the anesthesia department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
Demonstrates competence in the clinical practice area.
Assumes responsibility for own professional growth and continuing education.
Demonstrates professional written and verbal skills. Effectively communicates with patients, family members, and all members of the healthcare team.
Demonstrates a professional attitude and interest in work by maintaining acceptable work habits and behaviors.
Participates in quality improvement programs for anesthesia in cooperation with hospital programs.
Follows policies and procedures in accordance with anesthesia standards of care.
Demonstrates knowledge and participates in the education of patients, relatives, and/or visitors.
Demonstrates commitment to the patient experience and exemplifies the Mercy Core Values.
EDUCATION: Must be a graduate of a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the Council of Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs. Master’s degree or higher is required.
LICENSURE & QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a CRNA preferred
Licensed by the State of Iowa as an advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP)
Certified by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certified
Possess Federal DEA registration and State of Iowa Controlled Substance number
National Provider number
