Responsibilities

CHI Minot Medical Plaza is looking for a Full Time MLT to join the team!

Supervises the clinic lab team activities to assure high quality, effective operations and wise use of resources. Develops and uses the orientation, education, competency, and evaluation materials necessary to provide a highly skilled, customer focused team for running an efficient lab. Exhibits positive communication skills with all customers.

What You'll Do:

  • Performs laboratory tests accurately and reports results in a timely fashion.

  • Assures quality control is completed and documented accurately as required.

  • Performs phlebotomies and specimen collection following policies; patient identification, sterile technique, labeling of specimens, choosing correct tubes/containers, specimen storage

  • Performs required instrument maintenance, validations, calibrations, & troubleshooting

  • Completes correct order entry of laboratory requests

  • Evaluates and implements techniques, procedures and new instrumentation

  • Develops and implements Quality Improvement activities

  • Writes, updates, and revises policies and/or procedures.

  • Keeps current on regulatory agency requirements and implements changes as needed (JC and COLA)

  • Participates in and is responsible for regulatory agency lab surveys (JC and COLA)

  • Oversees inventory and ordering of supplies

  • Develop & perform laboratory staff’s competency assessments for current & new lab equipment & procedures.

  • Responsible for annual proficiency testing on all tests performed in the lab.

  • Responsible for staff scheduling, staff duties & staff development.

  • Works to ensure quality patient care standards and safety practices are met.

  • Reviews laboratory invoices & analyzers reimbursement data

Qualifications

Education: Baccalaureate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science, Chemistry or Microbiology

Licensure: North Dakota State Licensure (MT)

Experience: Three to five years in a clinical laboratory setting

Skills: Proficient with Lab computer system

Ability to communicate with patients in order to explain necessary procedures and answer questions

Good educator skills

Good phlebotomy skills

Pay Range

$20.79 - $27.8 /hour
