GENERAL SUMMARY :
performs ultrasound procedures under the direction of a Perinatologist in a
highly technical and professional manner to meet daily and on-call patient care
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
Performs ultrasound exams, procedures andreports on scheduled shifts including on-call shifts for physicianreporting/review.
Provides care to obstetrical and occasional gynecologicalpatients.
Works within a sterile field as needed.
Provides patient/family or caregiver educationand bereavement counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional,and environmental health problems.
Demonstrates proficiency in performing all examsand procedures. Maintains the physicalenvironment of the department in a clean, well-stocked, orderly manner. Orders supplies and restocks rooms.
Maintains and operates clean equipment andtransducers according to procedures.
Complies with all regulatory agencyrecommendations and guidelines.
Maintains confidentiality regarding allpatient/personnel information.
Ensures the appropriate consents and/ordeclinations are obtained.
Submits accurate and complete information toensure documentation for services performed.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
Successful completion of an accredited two yearUltrasonography program.
Within six months of hire obtains and maintainsactive registry status in ARDMS, minimum registration in OB/GYN.
Participates in professional society.
BLS for the Healthcare Provider certified orobtained within three (3) months of hire.
Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abusetraining specific to population served within three (3) months of hire.
