  • Responsible for assessing, evaluating and treating athletes of all ages tomaximize patient outcomes.

  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education

  • Required: Bachelor's degree (BS, BA, etc...)

  • Preferred: Master's Degree (MS, MA, etc....)

  • Major

  • Required: Kinesiology; Exercise Physiology; Health Sciences; Etc...

  • Preferred: Athletic Training; Graduate Assistantship in Masters ATProgram

  • Experience

  • Required: Minimal/ no experience

  • Preferred: 2-3 years Athletic Training experiene in school setting oroutreach setting; 1-2 years Athletic Training experience as AT graduateassistant/fellow.

  • Skills

  • Required: Basic computer and data entry skills; Fully Competent inAthletic Training skills & domains

  • Preferred:

  • Licensure/Certifications

  • Required: Licensed by the State of Texas- Athletic Training (LAT); CPRcertified

  • Preferred: NATA BOC Certification (ATC); CSCS Certification; CPR/AEDInstructor; EMS certification

  • ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • ESSENTIAL

  • Evaluates referred patients anddesign/implement plan of care based on patient functioning, diagnosis,treatment, self-management and access to healthcare resources to optimizepatient care.

  • Documents evaluations and plan of care tomeet required guidelines.

  • Delivers physical care to patient followingmedical direction including monitoring of patient response and results duringcare to optimize patient outcome.

  • Instructs patient and/or family members intreatment, activities and home care to optimize customer service.

  • Evaluates appropriate staff members withquestions regarding unfamiliar diagnosis or age categories to maximizecommunication.

  • Provides education and counseling topatients, families and groups regarding health maintenance, normal bodyfunctions, injury prevention, strength and conditioning to prevent futureinjuries.

  • OTHER

  • Performs other duties as assigned to meetthe organization`s needs.
