  • ESSENTIAL

  • Performs routine cleaning of patient rooms,nursing units, offices, clinical areas, waiting and lobby area's, lounge andrestroom's, corridors, elevators and stairways using standardized procedures, toensure patient and staff safety.

  • Performs discharge cleaning of patientrooms as they occur using standardized procedures to optimize efficient use ofspace and resources.

  • Performs periodic detail cleaning duties inassigned areas following established schedules and using standardizedprocedures, to assist in the providing a superior environment.

  • Utilizes the appropriate chemicals andsupplies according to standardized procedures, to ensure the safety andeffectiveness of sanitizing the facility. Follows all safety procedures inregards to mixing chemicals, proper body mechanics, disposing of hazardouswastes and utilizing BSI when performing tasks.

  • Uses and maintains supplies and equipmentin an effective and efficient manner, with regard to stewardship.

  • Observes and reports damages to thefacility, fixtures, furniture and/or equipment, while considering the overallappearance and integrity of the facility.

  • Cleans emergency spills as observed orrequested to ensure safety.

  • Follows all infection control practices,including hand washing techniques, standardprecautions and isolation procedures,with regard to personal and public safety.

  • Communicates well with other team membersin order to foster professional working relationships.

  • Completes work assignment by end ofscheduled shift while considering stewardship.

  • Exhibits willingness to understand, followand promote the hospital's mission, vision, values, philosophy and objectives.

  • Demonstrates the ability to positivelyinteract with persons of different ethnic, spiritual, moral and culturalbeliefs, while treating all people courteously, fairly and with dignity.
